This is so great! I always write offline but still, having an internet connection and constantly being in tune to what’s out there interrupts the process.

I love the part where you spoke about the fear that we’d be forgotten. It’s a completely valid fear because the truth is, if you don’t write long enough, you will be forgotten. But so what? Our role as a writer is to write. Through what inspires us, breaks us and confuses us.

It’s sad that we need to be worried about an online presence and marketing ourselves to stay in the game. I keep telling myself that while all that may be important, it’s NEVER going to be a trade off for writing when you need to write, and writing well. Remembering that helps me keep the fear at bay when I need to be off.
